Icy

If it remains as cold as it was this weekend, and it doesn’t snow, we’ll have a rare chance to skate on the pond next weekend. In the meantime, we kept warm on Saturday with lasagna (veggie) and movie (Little Miss Sunshine) night.

Serious Moonlight

Mighty Phragmite

The phragmites surrounding the pond are in perfect health as they prepare for winter. We seem to be bypassing autumn entirely: on Saturday we could see ice forming on the pond.  We put the garden to bed, installed storm windows, stacked firewood, and generally tried to be as ready as the phragmites.
