Daisy Is One

Published by under Dogs,Sarah

Daisy is one year old today.  Here she is in Central Park, where she reminded us that she is still very much a puppy (meaning that she jumped on some five year-old kid). She’s a great dog!

Tête-à-Tête

Published by under Birds,Dogs

While Sarah had a playdate with her friends Anna and Lucy, Daisy had one with their dog, Saffron. Despite a bit of squabbling over a favored stick, they got along very well. I was relieved to see this robin today.  It suggests that winter may eventually end.

The Frozen Tundra

Published by under Dogs,Photos

We had a brief, chilly weekend at the farm.  On Friday, Sarah had a birthday sleepover at her friend Marin’s house in Hastings.  We arrived at the farm Saturday morning to find that very little snow had melted.  Daisy, recovering from a Wednesday spaying, had to stay mostly indoors, even though she seemed to feel […]

Sarah kicked off a splendid Christmas holiday by planting the star atop the tree.  We had Jen’s parents and brother for Christmas, and her sister and Geoff for New Year’s, with a visit from the Scherr family in between. Sarah’s stocking was quite full. Even Daisy got presents, including a nice new bone. After Christmas we got some […]

Downed Tree

Published by under Dogs,Trees

The dead apple tree in the field in front of the house finally gave up the ghost.  On the bright side, it’ll make mowing easier — I hit it pretty often with the tractor. Daisy, however, was mournful.

In the Saddle

Published by under Dogs,Horses,Sarah

Sarah had a riding lesson on Saturday. It was a splendid day, and Sarah got Skarloe moving. After lunch, we climbed Burger Hill.  It was fun until Daisy mauled a six year-old.  (Not really.)  (But kind of?) Sarah was not happy about it.
